1. A Capital Venture

Committed to keeping both investors and entrepreneurs in business, Angelsoft has pledged a total of $3,000 to the solvers of a challenge – set to close on September 30 – to create the ultimate iPhone app for entrepreneurs. In an economy where venture capital and angel investments are shrinking but entrepreneurship is thriving, start-up hopefuls will actively be looking for better ways to attract and court investors and manage their daily lives.

In their challenge, Angelsoft – a company providing software tools designed “to bring the power of collaboration technologies to the early-stage investment industry” – provides just a few examples of potential features for the app: an interface allowing immediate transmission of contact information to venture capitalists, a camera interface to link faces to business cards, integrated ways to show PowerPoint slides and product videos at a moment’s notice, and others.

Angelsoft has also posted a related challenge, with a $2,000 pledge, to design the next-generation business plan format. This challenge, which seeks to re-conceive the stale traditional business plan format with the benefits of Web 2.0 and its myriad interactive resources, was mentioned recently in VentureBeat and would go a long way toward helping entrepreneurs and investors connect. Spread the word!
