1. Know someone who has made a positive impact on the lives of military families?

We’ve heard some amazing stories about neighbors and organizations supporting military families — whether it’s lending a hand with child care, helping out with tax preparation, or throwing a baby shower for an expectant military mom.

If you know someone who’s doing something extraordinary to help these brave families, nominate that person (or submit your own application!) to be recognized by the Joining Forces Community Challenge. The submission process is simple: just write a short narrative to describe the positive impact. You can also submit a video to support your nomination.

Winners selected by judges, as well as the People’s Choice winner, will be announced in February. Winners’ profiles will be featured at Champions of Change, which celebrates extraordinary community efforts in the areas of innovation and education.

Joining Forces is a national initiative to support and honor America’s service members and their families. It was launched in April 2011 by First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden.

Submit your story by Oct. 31 at joiningforces.challenge.gov.
