Do you have a great idea for an app? Think it has the potential to be the next big thing? Check out NYC BigApps 3.0, the third annual contest for software developers (and anyone who loves to code) to create web or mobile apps using official New York City open data.
Whether you just want to make something that improves the daily lives of New Yorkers, or you aspire to launch your own startup, entering BigApps gives you unique and unparalleled opportunities.
Here’s what’s in store this year:

ENHANCED PRIZES + BUSINESS OPPORTUNITIES
And as always, your app will be reviewed by an amazing judging panel of leading tech investors and entrepreneurs.
Over the course of the previous two competitions, NYC BigApps has helped create more than 140 new and innovative apps. In 2009, winners MyCityWay (creators of the NYC Way iPhone app, which bundles 30+ NYC resources and provides geolocated info) went on to receive $22 million in funding. They’ve even expanded beyond NYC to 40 urban markets across the US, Canada, Europe, and Asia, and they’re launching at least one new city per week. This could be you if you win a BigApps 3.0 prize!
